Copper Canyon Mexico

We have just concluded the latest Hans Rey adventure to Copper Canyon in Northern Mexico. Our mission was to be the first to ride mountain bikes on the technical and difficult Chinivo Trail to the heart of the canyon, the old mining town of Batopilas.

Mt. Kenya, Africa

Hans Rey Adventure Team trip with Richie Schley: "Mountain Kenya Rage 2004" This was a serious undertaking not only because of the high altitude but also because of the constantly changing terrain which turned out to be more challenging than expected. Along with us was a small film-crew, Bob Poole and John Mans, who documented this expedition on HD (high definition) film for television and still photographer Blake Jorgenson; along with our local guide Dickson and the porters who carried our tents, food and camera-gear.I'm sitting at the edge of the Indian Ocean reflecting on my latest "Hans Rey Adventure Team" trip which just ended a few days ago. The goal was to be the first to traverse and summit Mt. Kenya (16,300 feet/ 5,000-meters) in East Africa on mountain bikes. My partner for this trip was freeriding legend and pioneer Richie Schley from Canada.

Global Extremes TV

I just got done with one of the coolest projects I have ever been involved with. I got hired to be one of the experts, on-camera TV moderator, and race director for this new TV Show for the Outdoor Life Network (OLN) and ABC, produced by American Adventure Productions Inc. I got to work with some old friends, but I met a lot of new cool people as well. The event is set in 6 stages. 50 non-professional, non-sponsored athletes were interviewed and invited by the network for our first elimination round in Moab, Utah in October 2002.

California, Rubicon

A couple of weeks ago I got back from the latest "Hans Rey Adventure Team" mini adventure with my friend and current Biker X World Champ Brian Lopes. We left Laguna Beach in Brian' sweet Sportsmobile (a $ 80K van with every luxury you can think of) to head to Lake Tahoe in Northern California.

Slovenia

hansperu.JPG (23249 bytes) I spent the last week with my friends from the Adidas Adventure Team in the Julien Alps in Slovenia. The Adidas Adventure Team consists of four worldclass outdoor athletes: Schorschi Schauf (Kayak), Beat Kammerlander (Climbing), Mike Küng (Paraglider) and myself.
